Hinkley Point C will be a new nuclear power station with an estimated production of 3,200 MWe provided by Two European Pressurised Reactors, EPR. Hinkley Point is located in Somerset, England. On site the new power station will be placed closely to existing power station Point A & Point B. This plant has been designed with a projected lifetime of sixty years.

The UK government gave its final approval to this project in September 2016. Although, it was proposed as part of a future energy mix policy by January 2006. In November 2012, the nuclear site licence was granted.

Talking about some numbers, Hinkley Point C EPR design will be capable of generating 7% of the UK's electricity. Also, It will avoid the emission of 9 million of tonnes of CO2 a year. At least 25,000 different job opportunities during the construction stage. The impact of the project has been estimated almost £4bn into regional economy over lifetime of the project. About the material to be used, 3 million tonnes of concrete, 250,000 tonnes of reinforcement, 5.6 million m3 of earth to be moved and 4000 km of electrical cabling.
The project will be manage from three Command Centres: an Engineering Command Centre, a Delivery Command Centre & the Site Command Centre.
Construction began during 2016, some of its achievement were 2,600,00 m3 of material excavated, concrete production from the 2 Batching plant on site of approximately 16,000 m3 & more than 1000 workers on site by the end of 2016.
